. "Music is powerful. It can make you think,
make you cry or laugh, transport you, humble
you, heal you. I'm sure that there are songs
you've heard in your life that moved you greatly
when you first heard them, and continue to move
you each time you hear them. My hope is that
my music will not only bring you to a place of
much-needed calm in the midst of everyday life,
but from that quiet place also entice you to begin
a reverent journey to a better understanding of
God and His Love for you in Christ Jesus."
Born and raised in Lewisburg, Ohio, Elizabeth started her
musical journey at the age of 5. Her classical training on
the piano with Mrs. Phyllis Katz of Dayton, Ohio, spanned
the next 12 years, during which she also studied violin
with
Dr. Paul Katz. Playing the trombone in marching and
concert band and singing in school and church choirs
added to a broad early musical experience.

Elizabeth earned a music scholarship to the
University of
Indianapolis, where she studied piano under Dr. Richard
Ratliff .  As a music major, her musical experience was
further broadened by concert band, jazz band, and
concert choir, as well as classical guitar lessons her senior
year.
Elizabeth played in numerous piano and instrumental concerts, as well as performing in and also composing and
arranging music to be used in theater performances, and was part of the inaugural concert for the
Cristel DeHaan
Fine Arts Center in the spring of 1994.  She graduated with a B.A. in Music the following spring.

Although music was not her immediate career, opportunities to arrange and perform and even teach continued
to present themselves and bring her closer to the eventual production of her first solo album. Venue experience
for Elizabeth has been eclectic - from living rooms to nursing homes, backyards to jazz "kitchens", weddings and
sacred settings to the concert hall. Her repertoire spans the classical generations from Bach to Beethoven,
Brahms to Debussy to Bartók, with jazz, blues, gospel and sacred, classic rock,  and popular music from the turn
of the 20th century through today in the mix.

Music is a part of nearly everything in her life. When she's not playing, practicing, composing or arranging on her
own, she enjoys playing and singing with her husband, John, who is a talented musician and blues guitarist.  She
and John also enjoy getting together with friends to play and enjoy music. Family reunions are also musical
occasions, opportunities to gather around the piano with family and  enjoy harmonizing together.

Her faith in God and His gift of music has always been the "magnetic pole" in Elizabeth's life. The creation of her
first cd was the culmination of many years of preparation, and the realization of a life dream to create and share
music and its ability to change hearts and minds with others. Work has begun on the next musical projects. "At
First Light" is only the beginning.
